Is Brock Lesnar really the best heavyweight in MMA?
Is Brock Lesnar really the best heavyweight fighter in all of MMA right now? After Fedor's surprising loss last Saturday and Brock's somewhat surprising win (which he also received submission of the night award for) Some would defiantly say say Brock is the best in the land right now.
The latest rankings have Brock Lesnar at 1 and Shane Carwin at 2 which it should be. Junior Dos Santos is at No 3 at No 4 Fabrico Werdum and at No 5 is Fedor Emelianenko.
Fedor took a huge dive in the rankings which is understandable considering it was his first legit loss and for whatever reason he doesn't want to go to the UFC where the best heavyeweights in the world are at. Hopefully with this loss he'll come to UFC cause if he does he'll pretty much be a shoe-in for an automatic title shot.
Brock's next fight is set to be No 6 ranked Cain Velasquez who will without a doubt be seen as the underdog in this fight which is as of now being rumored for UFC 119 in September. I think Cain can learn a lot from that Lesnar/Carwin fight. Lesnar got rattled in the first around and if it would have been any other ref we would of seen it stopped in the first round. Overall i thought Brock had a much better second round and thankfully he survied the first round. I was very surprised to hear Brock won by submission as he isn't typically a sibmission guy.
Were starting a new poll on our wrestling blog here and this weeks poll is Who Should Be The Top Heavyweight Fighter in MMA? Go ahead and vote.
