What happened to the state of Women's Wrestling?
Over the past few years the state of women's wrestling in both WWE and TNA have gone down hill. On one hand it's one of the highest rated segment's on impact however they only average a 5 minuet match at best! WWE is even worse every time a Diva's match comes on the crowd goes DEAD silent. Thankfully they only have to sit through it for 2-3 minuets tops.
It's hard for us fans to get excited over women's wrestling when it's clearly obvious WWE or TNA does not care anymore. For the most part their matches are to fill time and are rarely meaningful, matches even pay per view matches don't mean sh*t. It amazes me to see/hear the crowd just sit there and not make one single POP. I would think it would be hard for the diva's themselves to get into their own matches when that's the crowd reaction they get.
Since Trish and Lita both left WWE the diva's division has never been the same. These two set the bar for women's wrestling and had the crowd behind their matches. They were great story tellers as well as good on the mic as well. Even Victoria help set the bar, her feuds with Trish were some of the best diva's matches i've ever seen. Trish also helped elevate Mickie James to be a great diva's wrestler. Gail Kim is another name that's a great worked but WWE would rather use her more as an actual Diva instead of a worker.
It really is a shame for any independent women's wrestler who wants to make it to the big time when they see WWE and TNA don't put an effort into women's wrestling.
If WWE and TNA would put time into their women's division's fans would care but seeing as they don't i shall continue to flip the channel and bash both divisions.
